Pavlopoulos notes need to close institutional gaps that hinder women in IWD message

International Women’s Day (IWD) is an opportunity to fill in the institutional gaps that block women from fulfilling their potential, President Prokopis Pavlopoulos said on Tuesday, ahead of the IWD on March 8.

“International Women’s Day offers us the opportunity – and obliges us – to consider the responsibilities corresponding to each person, depending on one’s role, in that there is a significant deficit in the fulfillment of women’s potential both in the field of individual and collective human creation and in the adequate organization of society under conditions that ensure social cohesion,” he said in a statement.

“Therefore, let’s not let IWD be an ordinary celebration and let it be the starting point for completing the institutional gaps which prevent the full emergence of their potential and for the full implementation of the legal framework,” he added.
