“With the legislative initiative of the government, for the first time, Greek voters living abroad have the opportunity to exercise their right to vote from their place of residence,” government spokeswoman Aristotelia Peloni said on Monday during a press briefing.
Peloni called on main opposition SYRIZA party to vote for the bill.
Referring to the pandemic she said that “This week we will provide free tests available through pharmacies to approximately 900,000 employees in the private and public sectors, such as retailers, people working in restaurants, cafes, transport, financial services and justice” .
She underlined that “our country, once again, is a pioneer, establishing free distribution of self-diagnostic tests to the entire population. It is an important complementary tool that will contribute both to a safer opening of economic and social activities and to stopping the pandemic. To ensure the required adequacy, a new tender has already been launched for the supply of an additional 10 million self tests.”
Peloni also referred to the words of the prime minister that “when the government trusts the citizen, he responds responsibly”.
