PM Mitsotakis and President Tusk meet at Maximos Mansion

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and visiting European Council President Donald Tusk discussed the main issues on the agenda of the European Council meeting on October 17 and 18, at the Maximos Mansion on Wednesday.

A statement from the PM’s press office said the topics included Brexit and the repercussions of a possible no-plan exit by the UK from the EU; the Union’s enlargement with West Balkan countries; and the EU’s relationship with Turkey, especially in two respects: how to deal with the Turkish provocations in the East Mediterranean, and continuing the EU’s financial contribution to Turkey for the migration/refugee issue, as long as Turkey meets its obligations set out in the EU-Turkey Joint Statement of 2016.

The press office noted that Mitsotakis has repeatedly stressed that “Greece is a self-confident country that actively participates in all great discussions in Europe and the world.”
