PM Mitsotakis’ proposal for European vaccination certificate effectively ‘launched the discussion’, says spox Tarantilis

The proposal of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for the adoption of a coronavirus vaccination digital certificate in Europe has “launched the discussion” on the issue, said on Friday government spokesperson Christos Tarantilis.

After Thursday’s e-Summit of EU leaders, where the idea was tabled, “the technical terms and the scope of usage of said certificate are being looked into” by European institutions, he added.

Tarantilis recalled the statement of European Council President Charles Michel, who on Thursday said that European leaders agreed to work for the creation of a vaccination certificate for medical purposes, and that EU leaders will soon decide on which cases these should be used.
