PM Tsipras discusses Cyprus issue talks with Hollande, Merkel on the phone

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday had successive discussions over the phone with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande on developments in the negotiations on the Cyprus issue.

An announcement issued by the prime minister’s press office said that these conversations highlighted the importance of finding a just and viable solution for Europe and for EU relations with Turkey, as well as the EU’s critical role in the talks. Tsipras agreed in this talks with the two leaders that they should remain in contact over the coming period, when the multilateral meeting on Cyprus is underway in Geneva.
