Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met on Wednesday with the new leadership of the Supreme Court at Maximos Mansion to discuss issues relating to the Greek justice system, among which the delays in the administration of justice.
Tsipras told Supreme Court president Vasilios Peppas and its vice-presidents that he is interested in reversing the climate of distrust towards the justice system. On their side, judges explained the reasons why delays are often unavoidable despite their efforts, while presenting possible solutions.
Justice Minister Stavros Kontonis and government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos participate in the meeting. The judges agreed to meet with Kontonis next Monday to discuss the issues in more detail.
