PM Tsipras telephoned Putin to congratulate him on re-election, sources say

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, currently in Brussels to attend meetings of the European Council, telephoned Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday morning to congratulate him on his recent re-election, government sources said.

In addition to Greek-Russian cooperation, the sources added, the two leaders had an opportunity to discuss crucial issues in EU-Russian relations and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, with emphasis on the stance adopted by Turkey.
