PM’s initiative to brief the political leaders is respect to the institutions, says gov’t spokesman

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ initiative to brief the political leader on the outcome of the Eurogroup reflects the respect to the institutions provided that the agreement has many technical characteristics and is the result of a negotiations for which the premier believes he must brief in detail the political leaders before the debate in the parliament, stated government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos on Tuesday speaking to SKAI TV.

He clarified that the Eurogroup will support Greece’s return to the capital markets and not “until” tapping the markets as the Eurogroup decision in 2012 said. It is the first time, he noted, that a commitment exists that this will happen. There is a clear cut decision on the measures for the debt and the debt settlement will be held after the successful completion of the programme, added Tzanakopoulos.
