Police arrest gang of teens that robbed elderly people in Athens

Police on Monday reported the dismantling of gang mostly made up underage minors that targeted and robbed elderly people in the Athens district of Patissia.

According to the local police station, the gang operated by following the elderly and attacking them when they entered their apartment building, violently removing necklaces and other jewellery from their necks.

On Friday, the members of the four members of the gang, aged 14, 16, 17 and 19, were located by police officers and arrested. So far, their involvement in 11 robbery cases has been confirmed.

They were sent before an Athens prosecutor, who sent them to a juveniles’ prosecutor.
