Police arrest two Pakistanis, a Russian for mugging people in the Acropolis area

Police arrested three foreigners in two separate cases for robbing Greeks and tourists in the vicinity of the Acropolis.

Two Pakistanis, aged 17 and 18, were arrested on Filopappou Hill after a search by the DIAS police motorcycle unit. They had earlier held up two Spanish nationals at knifepoint and taken their cellphones. The two teenagers had been involved in three more muggings on Filopappou. On April 23 they held up two separate couples, Greek and Polish, removing money and their cellphones and on April 26 they robbed a couple from Belarus, taking their cellphones and a camera.

DIAS also arrested an 18-year-old Russian in the Acropolis area for removing at knifepoint a music device belonging to two Afghans.

The arrested teenagers were led before the Athens misdemeanors prosecutor.
