A ring selling large quantities of drugs in various parts of Attica has been dismantled by the Attica Security Police narcotics squad, police announced on Friday. In a coordinated police operation in the Athens districts of Egaleo, Haidari and Melissia, police have arrested three foreign nationals aged 40, 42 and 48 years old, respectively, as well as a 32-year-old foreign national at the Kakavia border crossing and a 43-year-old Greek woman charged with violating laws on drugs.
Police believe the 32-year-old was the gang leader, while the 40-year-old was in charge of selling the drugs to various pushers in Attica and the other two were entrusted with keeping quantities of heroin in their homes.
In the suspects’ possession, police found and confiscated 21.3997 kilos of heroin, one gramme of cocaine and 2.6 grammes of cannabis, as well as three sets of precision scales.
The parties arrested will be taken to an Athens misdemeanours court prosecutor.
