Police investigating reported robbery of Cote d’Ivoire honorary consul in Syntagma

Two unknown perpetrators stole the bag and passport of a 72-year-old woman serving as the honorary consul of the Cote d’Ivoire in Greece, according to a report filed at the Syntagma police station on Monday.

According to the victim, the two men approached her while she was sitting in her car on Karageorgi Servias Street in central Athens and told her that her rear tyre was flat. When she got out to investigate, they grabbed a bag that contained 50,000 euros and her passport and fled.

Police have launched a search to locate and arrest those responsible.
