Positive messages from Juncker’s visit, gov’t spokesman Tzanakopoulos says

Positive messages emerged from European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker’s visit to Athens, government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said on Friday in an interview with “Sto Kokkino” radio station.

“Everyone agrees that yesterday’s visit was successful and positive. It confirmed that Greece will make a new start in August 2018. Greece is returning to European normality and the regulations that apply to all eurozone member states,” he said.

“The programme is concluded and we are on track for a clean exit from the memoranda,” he added.

Asked about the Eurogroup, he said: “A preliminary discussion will take place, mainly on the growth model. There will also be discussions on the debt issue, post-programme surveillance and a clean exit from the memoranda, as well as on the prior actions for the conclusion of the fourth programme review.

He also said that the government hopes for the conclusion of the process by the Eurogroup on June 21.
