PPC to begin charging clients for paper bills as of Dec. 1

The Public Power Corporation (PPC) will charge customers one euro per electricity bill as of December 1 to defray costs of printing and mailing its bills, it said on Tuesday, calling its clients to sign up for e-billing.

If clients sign up for e-billing by December 31 and still get charged a euro, this will be reimbursed on the next bill, the company said.

“PPC plans to take specific steps at its physical stores and during every transaction with a client to help its customers become familiarized with their electronic bills and use them instead of the paper ones,” it said in a statement.
