The President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou received on Tuesday visiting Interior Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin who also brought with him a special unit of firemen and fire engines from Serbia to assist in the battle against the wildfires.
Sakellaropoulou thanked the Serbian Minister for the support and underlined the excellent level of the two countries’ relations.
The two top officials exchanged views about the regional and international developments, the climate change and the migration issue. Both agreed that the only way to resolve the problems in the region is the International Law and the dialogue.
Sakellaropoulou reiterated Greece’s support to Serbia’s European course, on the condition it meets the requirements and, on his part, Vulin thanked Sakellaropoulou for Greece’s timeless support to Serbia.
Later, Sakellaropoulou attended volunteer fireman Vassilis Filoras’ funeral.
