Rescue teams working to bring slightly injured French national off Mt. Olympus

A rescue operation was under way midday Saturday to help a French mountain climber off Mt. Olympus in northern Greece who has been immobilized due to lower leg injury at the location Gavos, at an altitude of 2,100-2,200 metres.

Eighteen volunteer members of the Greek Rescue Team are trying to approach the area following a call around noon, and the Litochoro fire brigade has been alterted.

The French man was climbing with two more individuals, who authorities said are in a healthy state.
