Schools closed, university entrance exams indefinitely postponed on Lesvos

All schools on the island of Lesvos will remain closed on Thursday – the last day of the school year – as a precaution following Monday’s earthquake.

University entrance examinations by school leavers on the island have also been postponed until further notice though they will go ahead on nearby northern Aegean islands, such as Agios Efstratios, Chios, Oinousses, Psarra and Limnos.

The decision was taken after authorities on Lesvos declared a state of emergency and exam centres on other islands were declared safe.
