SHAPE Europe 2016 held the 4th annual meeting of the European Global Shapers in Athens on Youth Unemployment and Empowerment, Regional Economic Growth and the Refugee Crisis.
According to an announcement, the participation of the young people was crucial and highly interactive as they discussed and seriously analysed current issues, while specifying the meaning of a prosperous society.
Adeyemi Babington-Ashaye, Head of Global Shapers Community, World Economic Forum, stated: The Athens Hub hosted the Shape Europe 2016 in a special time for the wider geographical area. Apart from the main issues discussed, we were able to explore sensitive issues of national and international content and felt very proud to see that there is room for the expression of different views and thoughts. The discussions were followed by commitments for action to achieve many of the ideas we all shared under Shape Europe 2016. Indeed, this is the vision of the community of Global Shapers, which after this year’s event made me feel more optimistic about the future of Europe.”
