Shipping Min. Kouroumblis discusses Heraklion-Santorini sea link in winter with mayor on Crete

The possibility of a new sea route linking Heraklion, Crete with the island of Santorini during winter was the focus of talks between Shipping Minister Panagiotis Kouroumblis and mayor Vassilis Lambrinos at a meeting on Wednesday, at the Heraklion City Hall.

The minister pledged to examine the request through the activation of a new sea route connecting Crete, Santorini, Ios, Paros, Mykonos, Tinos, Andros and Rafina.

The mayor said that “it is a reasonable request of the tourist agents and sailors of Crete who believe that this will help extend the tourist season on both islands, something that will have multiple benefits for the local economies.”
