Single and indivisible solution for FYROM issue, says ND’s Koumoutsako

“Unfortunately, the information we have from Matthew Nimetz does not assuage our concerns,” stated main opposition New Democracy’s foreign affairs sector head Giorgos Koumoutsakos after his meeting with UN special mediator Nimetz on Tuesday.

“Consequently, we consider that we should reiterate ND’s clear position that a solution should be single and indivisible and that it should ensure: Firstly the eradication of all forms of irredentism on the part of the neigbouring country, secondly a name acceptable to the Greeks and third its adoption erga omnes, by all sides and for all uses. It is clear that the only guarantee for this is to change the [country’s] constitution,” underlined Koumoutsakos.
