Skrekas: By year’s end, an average household will experience almost no increase in electricity costs

Price hikes in electricity costs, the reasons behind the phenomenon and measures against it for businesses and consumers were discussed during the Thessaloniki Helexpo Forum titled ‘Creating the Next Day’, participated by Environment & Energy Minister Kostas Skrekas on Monday.

Speaking at the forum, Skrekas referred to the additional reduction of electricity bills up to 600 kilowatts per month, brought along by the Public Power Company (PPC) and by private providers, explaining that increases in electricity prices are thus compensated for 80% of consumers.

“By the end of the year, an average household will experience almost no increase in electricity costs,” he stressed.
