Stathakis and Calenda discuss possibilities of Italian investments in energy

The possibility of new investments in energy from Italian companies in electricity, natural gas and hydrocarbon exploration were discussed in a meeting between Environment and Energy Minister George Stathakis with Italy’s Economic Development Minister Carlo Calenda in Rome.

According to the ministry, the two officials discussed the following:

-The progress in the construction of the existing natural gas pipelines (TAP, IGB, EastMed).

-Current Italian investments in Greece’s energy sector, with an emphasis on natural gas and renewable energy sources.

-The prospect of new investments after the further opening of the energy sector

-The new prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the field of research and hydrocarbon exploration
