Stephen Blanck underlines prospects after the discovery of gas field in block 10 of Cypriot EEZ

Senior scientific associate of the American Foreign Policy Council specializing in energy security issues, Stephen Blanck, underlined the new prospects opened after the discovery of the gas field in block 10 of the Cypriot EEZ.

In an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA), Blanck described the construction of the EastMed pipeline as a “geopolitical necessity”, while he estimated that Greece should seize the opportunity to play a strategic role in the ongoing process for the energy integration of Europe.

Greece can play a “bridge role” among the energy-rich countries of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Central and Eastern European countries participating in the “Three-Sea Initiative” and have the necessary infrastructure.
