Support rally for jailed Greek soldiers held outside Turkish consulate in Thessaloniki

A support rally for the two Greek servicemen arrested and jailed in Turkey took place outside the Turkish consulate in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki on Wednesday, in response to a call made via the internet.

The protestors asked for the immediate release and return of the two Greek soldiers “without exchanges or oriental haggling” and said that, in the opposite case, they would take action to make the issue global through movements of citizens and to “embargo” Turkish products and tourism.

They also posted a resolution by the “Committee of Support for the two Greek soldiers” on a tree outside the consulate, sang the national anthem and left.
