SYRIZA: Mitsotakis gov’t making empty promises instead of providing a plan against the pandemic

The European Commission has “already denied the assertion of the Minister of Health that Greece will purchase a vaccine that does not yet exist,” main opposition SYRIZA said on Monday. “If it weren’t for the gravity of the issue, it would be nearly funny,” it added.

The party accused the Mitsotakis government of “‘offering trinkets to the natives’ as its inadequate plan is collapsing.” Instead, it said, “it should admit the obvious, that it’s leading the country to recession and leaving society unprotected in the pandemic.”

The main opposition party said the government is “playing with the public’s anxiety” through “cheap government-generated populism that is both unacceptable and dangerous.”
