SYRIZA’s Charitsis accuses government of its economic policy

“The government considered that it would ward off the unprecedented wave of price hike with wishsful thinking. Not only did it not succeed, but its inaction made the consequences of the crisis even more painful”, main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance MP responsible for development and investments Alexis Charitsis said.

“We are now informed that measures of tax relief are being considered”, Charitsis added and commented: “We welcome the government to the harsh reality that Greek society has been facing for months.”

Charitsis also noted that “a comprehensive network of market regulation and protection of households and businesses is urgently needed” because “high prices are not a rule of law. It is the result of an anti-social and wrong policy.”
