SYRIZA’s Iliopoulos lashes out at Mitsotakis regarding the pandemic

Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Nasos Iliopoulos attacked Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis over his recent satements regarding the pandemic, while speaking to “Sto Kokkino 105.5” radio station on Thursday.

Iliopoulos was scathing about Mitsotakis’ claim that the pandemic was not out of control despite a record number of new covid cases. He pointed out that 431 people were currently intubated, compared with 169 at the same time last year.

“And Mr. Mitsotakis is telling us today that the health system is holding its own,” he added, “when in northern Greece there are no ICU beds, when we see doctors collapsing in front of the cameras, when regional clinics are closing so as to transfer doctors to the hospitals.”
