“The government is leading the country to a new social and economic bankruptcy,” stated main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Nassos Iliopoulos, speaking to radio “Sto Kokkino” on Wednesday.
He also accused the government of a “vulgar” attempt to blame the recommendations of the epidemiologists’ committee for “its clearly political decisions”.
Ιliopoulos said that 35,000 of Greeks are faced with the prospect of losing their primary residence as “even if they applied to be included in the so-called Katseli law, their cases have not yet been heard, and the government is now pressing them to resubmit documents within a very tight deadline, and resuming the auctions”. SYRIZA will guarantee that there will be social pressure over this issue, he added.
Commenting on Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ interview on Tuesday, he said that “once again the prime minister proved himself incapable of self-criticism, and “unfortunately, far from reality”.
