Taste of Athens, a gastronomical event including food and wine tasting and cooking lessons by world-class chefs, will be held at the Great Lawn of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center from September 27 to 30.
The Central Markets and Fisheries Organization will provide raw materials to the restaurants that will showcase a sampling of their cuisine, and will include a deli market for visitors to talk with food businesses and try a large selection of specialist foods.
Taste of Athens is part of a worldwide network of more than 20 events hosted in cities from London to Toronto, Milan to Amsterdam, Dubai to Hong Kong.
Each festival day will include two separate four-hour sessions: 12:00 to 16:00 and 18:30 to 22:30.
Children are welcome and will be able to explore a vegetable garden with well-known Greek chef Alexandros Papandreou and dietician Asteria Stamataki giving a tour of the garden, talk about proper nutrition and create recipes.
