The government tries to contribute to investigation of Novartis case, gov’t spokesman says

The government, “in an entirely institutional way, attempts to assist in the investigation of the case and reveal the truth,” government spokesman, Dimitris Tzanakopoulos, said on Monday in an interview with ‘Efimerida Ton Syntakton’ newspaper.

He noted that “Greek Justice has an obligation to protect the witnesses as provided by the law and I have no doubt that it does so” adding that the political system and journalists must do the same.

“I hope that they will defend the credibility and independence of the Greek justice,” Tzanakopoulos said. In any case, he said, it is ridiculous to claim that the government has even set up event the reports of the US authorities and the FBI.
