The major issue in Europe is not to play a game of responsibilities, says Migration Min Vitsas

The major issue in Europe is not to play a game of responsibilities but to deal with the problem itself” stated Migration policy Minister Dimitris Vitsas in an interview with the Sunday edition of Avghi newspaper.

He noted the need to speed up the asylum procedures, something which practically means more human and material resources in order the applications to be examined faster.

“I want to simplify the examination of asylum requests system and make it faster”, said Vitsas adding that “our basic framework is the Geneva Treaty and New York’s protocol on which are based the European and Greek law and the ministry is working within this framework because the ministry, I underline that, is not a movement”.
