There will be a package agreement at the Eurogroup on May 22, European Parliament Vice President Dimitris Papadimoulis said on Wednesday in statements to the Athens Macedonian News Agency’s radio station Praktoreio 104.9 FM.
As he said, it is apparent that we will have a package agreement that will include the debt.
“It is taken for granted that the programme review will conclude at the Eurogroup on Monday and the medium term measures on debt will be defined,” he underlined.
Papadimoulis explained that the agreement will strengthen the confidence in the Greek economy and pave the way for Greece’s participation in ECB’s quantitative easing programme.
He also referred to European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker’s statement that Greece has made significant progress. In a tweet earlier in the day, Papadimoulis said: “Junker replied to my question: Τhe Commission wants Greece out of the high deficit procedure. There is great progress.”
