Top court prosecutor orders probe into possible leak of classified documents in Saudi arms deal

Supreme Court prosecutor Xeni Dimitriou ordered a preliminary investigation into the leak of classified documents relating to the sale 66m euros worth of surplus missiles and bombs to Saudi Arabia.

Fimitriou asked the Military Court of Athens to determine whether the documents published were indeed classified and if there was an illegal leak. The court will investigate whether any servicemen were involved in the case and if other suspects are involved, the probe will widen and continue by the Supreme Court prosecutor.

On Nov. 17, Dimitriou had ordered another probe by the corruption prosecutor into the sale itself and the conditions under which it was agreed on. The procedure is underway.
