Greek tourist companies are faced with double taxation which has seriously hit their competitiveness, the CEO of Tor Hotel Group said to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.
The majority of tourist companies absorbs the new taxes often at the expense of services provided making them unable to meet the new standards, he underlined.
Another problem is the inefficient infrastructure. It is disappointing for an area such as Chalkidiki that has attracted significant investments to lose part of its dynamics as a result of low infrastructure. “The tourism product is the mirror of the overall tourism development in each region. Hoteliers cannot do miracles,” he stressed.
