A total of 78,335 high school graduates passed their entrance exams for universities in Greece, the Education Ministry announced, a rise of 3,643 students over last year (74,692).
The number of students enrolling in 121 university departments remains the same as last year, with the change attributed to candidates for new departments following a restructuring in higher education.
Of the 78,335 who will start their undergraduate degree in 2019-2020, a total of 25,123 will study in the new departments.
