Transport ministry to impose order on companies offering online taxi hiring services

The infrastructure and transport ministry on Friday announced its determination to impose order on companies offering online taxi hiring services, while denying that a draft law for regulating the sector already exists.

“Whether they want it or not, we will impose order upon an area that previous governments deliberately left unchecked in order to serve certain interests,” the ministry said, and added:

“Anyone who wishes – either an investor or a company or an individual – to operate in the taxi hiring services’ sector, has nothing to fear, as long as they follow national and European legislation.”
