Transport portfolio goes to Deputy Infrastructure and Transport Minister Nikos Mavraganis

Deputy Infrastructure and Transport Minister Nikos Mavraganis is to take over the transport portfolio at the ministry, in accordance with an decision posted by Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Spirtzis on the government’s Diavgeia website on Friday.

Mavraganis will be in charge of the transport and road safety general directorates, the parliamentary and internal control sections and the National Council for Road Safety, while supervision of the the Athens and Thessaloniki urban transport organisations, the Greek railways (OSE), the rail operator (TRAINOSE) and the Hellenic Company for Rolling Stock Maintenance S.A. will also fall within his remit.

Spirtzis has retained responsibility for appointing the management of the supervised bodies and independent agencies, the members of the National Council for Road Safety and Thessaloniki urban transport organisation board and questions relating to the appointments and transfers of senior management.
