Trial on the bad loans issued by the Hellenic Postbankt will resume on October 31

A Three-Member Felony Appeals Court interrupted the trial on the bad loans issued by the Hellenic Postbank (TT) between 2008 and 2010, saying it will resume on October 31.

Thirty five people will stand trial for the shady loans issued before its liquidation in 2013 including the bank’s former head Angelos Filippidis, bank executives and businessmen. According to the charges, the loans harmed the bank as the bank executives who issued them didn’t require the necessary guarantees.

The court also rejected an objection raised by one of the defendants, a Serbian national, against the subpoena he received, which was not translated into his language.
