Tsipras calls on Hellenic Financial Stability Fund to limit shareholder position in Piraeus Bank

SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance party leader Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday sent a memorandum to the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund’s (HFSF) President, its General Council and its Audit Committee, requesting that HFSF limits its shareholder position as Piraeus Bank’s majority shareholder “immediately, on April 7.”

Addressing all parties concerned in his memorandum, Tsipras calls on them to use their “blocking veto” legal right in their upcoming April 7 general council meeting, thus preventing “the abolition of the pre-emptive right of preference of existing shareholders.”
