Tsipras: In Austria, the institutions work; in Greece, deafening silence

Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras lashed out at the government for “refusing” the governing majority in the Parliamentary Institutions and Transparency Committee to accept the request of the opposition MPs “to check the polls that blatantly violate all limits of credibility and common sense”.

He noted that Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz resigned over an one million euro corruption inquiry while Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has granted over 30-million euro state funds to the Greek media and nobody has reacted.

Tsipras underlined that “the justice in Austria immediately reacted following the corruption reports. On the contrary, deafening silence prevails in Greece.”
