Turkish F-16s violate Greek national air space over the Aegean sea

Three pairs of Turkish F-16s entered the Athens Flight Information Region (FIR) on Thursday without submitting flight plans, the Hellenic National Defense General Staff said.

According to a statement, three pairs of F-16s, a pair of F-4s and one CN-235 aircraft, all Turkish aircraft, were involved in total in 7 infringements of the Athens FIR, which developed into 16 violations of national air space at various points over the Aegean Sea.

All were identified and intercepted, while in two cases their interception turned into a simulated dogfight. Six of the eight warplanes carried weapons.
