Turnover in the domestic industrial sector jumped 13.5 pct in December 2016, for an average decline of 5.1 pct in 2016, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Monday.
The statistics service, in a report, said the turnover composite index (measuring both the domestic and external markets) grew 13.5 pct in December compared with the same month in 2015, after a 0.7 pct decline recorded in the 2015/2014 period.
The development was attributed to a 13.8 pct increase in the manufacturing turnover index and a 5.0 pct decline in the mining turnover index. The domestic turnover index grew 10.1 pct in December, while the external market index jumped 18.1 pct.
The industrial turnover index grew 15.2 pct in December 2016 from November 2016, whle average index in the January-December 2016 period fell 5.1 pct, after a 10.2 pct decline recorded in 2015.
