Two border policemen detained pending trial for helping irregular migrants enter country

Two border policemen arrested on October 25 for helping irregular migrants enter the country through the northeastern borders will be held in custody in Grevena, NW Greece, pending a trial in Komotini.

The two men testified for three hours at an Alexandroupoli court of appeals in northeastern Greece on Monday for three hours, their defense attorney Maria Karageorgiou said.

A third individual arrested with them for similar reasons is expected to testify on Tuesday.
