Union of Centrists deputy to go independent, he tells TV station

Union of Centrists Deputy Aristidis Fokas told Vergina TV on Tuesday he intends to become an independent deputy.

Fokas said he wants to continue working for Macedonia, his region, and that he is not a professional politician. He will formally notify Parliament President Nikos Voutsis through a letter on Wednesday, he announced.

The Union of Centrists has six deputies in Parliament; Fokas was elected to his seat by Thessaloniki District 2.
