An unknown man injured an Iranian embassy guard by knife midday on Wednesday and then fled, authorities said.
According to preliminary information, the man’s movements near an embassy car roused the suspicion of two security guards watching him through cameras, and they went out to investigate. Following a brief exchange, the man drew a knife and injured one of the guards in the face and the abdomen, then fled.
The injured guard was transferred to hospital, while police was called to investigate.
The perpetrator was described as a man of average height, about 50 years old, possibly Iranian, wearing a white Tshirt.
