US ambassador briefed on pandemic in Greece, EODY collaboration with CDC

US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt was briefed on the coronavirus pandemic in Greece through a teleconference at the National Public Health Organization (EODY) on Tuesday.

The briefing was held at the agency’s premises by EODY President Panagiotis Arkoumaneas, Vice-President Giorgos Panagiotakopoulos and infectious diseases professor Sotiris Tsiodras.

In a statement, the organization said that “there was an exchange of views and information on future collaboration of the US Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) and on the situation in Greece and Europe.”

In addition, they discussed health policy and the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic on the economy and tourism, it said.
