Visitors and revenues in Greek museums posted a 19 percent and 26.1 percent rise respectively in June 2017 compared to the same month in 2016, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said on Monday.
The number of free admission visitors in June increased by 56.2 percent.
Visitors to archaeological sites posted a 20.9 percent rise and revenues increased by 17.7 percent in June 2017 compared to the same month in 2016. Free admission tickets posted a 29.3 percent increase.
In the period January-June 2017 visitors to Greek museums rose by 18.2 percent, revenues increased by 24.5 percent and free admission tickets increased by 16.6 percent.
In the same period the number of visitors to archaeological sites rose by 20 percent and revenues posted a 21.3 percent increase. Free admission tickets increased by 21.1 percent.
