Reports about misuse of EU funds on the refugee issue are speculations that exceed the limits of degradation, Minister for Migration Policy Dimitris Vitsas said in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).
However, he added that the European Commission has made clear that there is no evidence of misuse.
He also referred to the efforts made to reduce the number of migrants on the islands, adding that the next target is the transfer of another 5,000-6,000 people.
With regard to the two camps created in the European Union on how to manage refugee-migrants and the rise of far-right parties, the Minister noted that countries believing in solidarity are discussing in order to find solutions to the migration issue.
Asked whether Greece is ready to face a new potential refugee-migration flow, he underlined: “We are worried, we are taking steps and only one collective effort from the EU will be able to face a new refugee-migration flow.”
