Parliament: Vote on bill on VAT reduction and 13th pension on Wednesday

The debate on a draft bill introducing a 120-installment debt settlement option for paying debts to social security funds, tax offices and other public services, will be extended for an additional day and end on Wednesday instead of Tuesday.

The draft law was introduced to the parliament plenary on Monday evening under fast-track procedures and will be voted on in a roll-call vote.

During the debate, the government also tabled a rider to the draft bill reintroducing an additional pension payment (the so-called ’13th pension’) promised by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras a few days ago, who said that the bonus would be restored and paid out to pensioners by the end of the month.
