Wage employment up significantly in May

Wage employment in the private sector grew in May by 89,534 job positions, the “Ergani” IT system said in a report released on Wednesday. The May performance was the highest recorded positive balance figure for the month since 2001. The wage employment flows balance showed 215,304 new job positions in the January-May period, also the highest five-month figures since 2001. New job hirings totaled 264,587 in May, while dismissals or voluntary exit totaled 175,053. In the five-month period from January to May, new job hirings totaled 924,321 and job exits totaled 709,017.
